Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) offers a variety of challenging and rewarding hikes, each with its own unique beauty. The Sky Pond hike, known for its stunning views and challenging ascent, rewards hikers with a breathtaking alpine lake nestled beneath dramatic peaks. The Alpine Ridge Trail provides panoramic vistas of the park's diverse landscapes, while the Emerald Lake trail leads through lush forests and past cascading waterfalls to a picturesque emerald-green lake. Day 1 - Arrival

Reach at Denver airport by 5pm and drive to Rocky Mountain national park inn shared transportation. Mi Adventures'23 representative will meet you at airport and lead to hotel. Will have trip briefing in the evening.

Day 2 -Chasm lake & Alpine Ridge

Rocky Mountain National Park offers challenging yet rewarding hikes like Chasm Lake and Alpine Ridge. Chasm Lake involves a strenuous climb to a secluded lake surrounded by towering cliffs and glaciers, offering a sense of solitude and awe-inspiring scenery. The Alpine Ridge Trail provides panoramic vistas of the park's diverse landscapes, including snow-capped peaks, lush meadows, and deep valleys. Both hikes require a high level of fitness and experience due to their elevation and challenging terrain.

Day 3 - Sky Pond, The Loch, and Timberline Falls via Glacier Gorge Loop

This hike takes you on a scenic loop through Glacier Gorge in Rocky Mountain National Park. You'll encounter stunning views of Sky Pond, a turquoise alpine lake nestled beneath dramatic peaks. Along the way, you'll also visit The Loch, a smaller lake, and admire the cascading beauty of Timberline Falls. The loop offers a challenging but rewarding experience with varied terrain and breathtaking scenery.

This hike takes you on a scenic loop through Glacier Gorge in Rocky Mountain National Park. You'll encounter stunning views of Sky Pond, a turquoise alpine lake nestled beneath dramatic peaks. Along the way, you'll also visit The Loch, a smaller lake, and admire the cascading beauty of Timberline Falls. The loop offers a challenging but rewarding experience with varied terrain and breathtaking scenery.

After lunch say adios to RMNP and drive to Leadville, CO (3 hours, 128 miles).

Day 5 - Mt. Massive (14er)

We will start early morning at 4am at trailhead. Mount Massive, the second-highest peak in Colorado at 14,427 ft, presents a 14+ miles challenging but rewarding hike. The East Ridge route is a popular choice for its stunning panoramic views of the Sawatch Range. This strenuous hike involves significant elevation gain, exposure to high-altitude conditions, and requires navigation through talus fields and rock scrambles. Proper acclimatization, adequate gear, and navigation skills are essential for a safe and successful summit attempt. The sense of accomplishment upon reaching the summit of Mount Massive is truly unparalleled.

Return to the hotel, take a couple of hours rest & Drive to Denver International airport (2.5 hours, 122 miles).

Day 6- Departure

Take an early morning red eye flight from Denver Internation airport (DEN) back to home. If you require extended stay to suit your flight timing, additional payment for accommodation may be required and make their transportation to travel to Denver Internation airport (DEN).

Travel

Domestic/International Flights
  • Client is responsible to book flights to & from Denver.
  • Mi Adventures'23 will not be responsible for any cancellation or rescheduling fees due to any reasons.
Transportation
  • Mi Adventures'23 will determine carpooling plan based on enrollment & communicate accordingly.
  • Rental car cost, fuel, toll, parking at airport and any other will be shared between clients in same car/vehicle.
Insurance
  • You can purchase trip insurance online if required.
Expectations during trip
  • There is a timed entry to RMNP which needs to be purchased upfront.
  • Daily trip schedule will be pretty busy, all clients are expected to leave from hotel on time and maintain time table determined.
  • Early start for each day is required to ensure parking spot.
  • Trip schedule may change depending upon the weather advisory and guidance of National Park.
  • We rely on volunteers to manage the trip. All clients are encouraged to help with chores as required.
  • All clients are required to participate in organizing dinner every day, ensuring the group enjoys preferred meals while keeping overall costs under control.
  • Any incidental expenses incurred at the discretion of Mi Adventures'23 during the trip, will be shared by all clients.
  • Actual trip cost may vary and client agrees to pay the difference or Mi Adventures'23 to refund at the time of trip Settlement within 3 weeks of end date of the trip.
Medical Help during the trip
  • Any medical or evacuation expenses incurred will be the sole responsibility of the client.
Health
  • Daimox is typically used for higher altitude treks to minimize the impact of the altitude sickness. Pl. consult your licensed medical practitioner for the prescription.
  • This trip is a high-altitude trek and the maximum height reached will be approx. 14,427 ft /4,397 m. hours. Exposure to high altitudes may cause Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).
